Germany allocates 33.5 million Euros for the implementation of social projects in Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 28.11.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The agreements between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on financial cooperation for the period 2016-2017 and on technical cooperation for the period 2016-2017 were signed in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
These documents were signed in accordance with the agreements reached at the Intergovernmental Tajik-German negotiations held in Berlin in 2016.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany provides new funds in the amount of 33.5 million Euros to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of bilateral technical and financial cooperation for 2016-2017. These funds will be used to implement social projects. Additional funds will be directed to the project «Rehabilitation of the “Ak-Su” HPP in the Murghob district.
It should be noted that on the Tajik side the Agreement was signed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nematullo Hikmatullozoda, and on the German side by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Tajikistan Nighthart Hofer-Wissing.
