Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN attended the ECOSOC 2018 session on the repositioning of the UN Development System
DUSHANBE, 14.11.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov participated and addressed the ECOSOC 2018 session on the repositioning of the UN Development System for supporting the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on November 10.
According to the Information Department of the Foreign Ministry of the country, in his statement the Permanent Representative recalled the proposals made by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon at the General Debates of the 72nd session of the UNGA on the UN reform, in particular the reform of the UN water architecture.
Ambassador Mahmadaminov emphasized the importance of the reforming of the UN activities for development to support countries in their efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. He also noted importance of the financing the Sustainable Development Goals, including those related to water and sanitation.
