Somon Air carried out technical flight on the route Dushanbe – Seoul – Dushanbe

According to the reached agreement between the heads of government of the Republic of Tajikistan and South Korea and in order to develop and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of air transportation, the aircraft of Somon Air carried out technical flight on the route Dushanbe – Seoul – Dushanbe.
The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was on the board of the Boeing 737-900 airliner, which has taken part in the talks on the opening of a regular flight. The purpose of this agreement is not only connecting the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea by direct air communication but also is the establishment tourist relations between the two countries.
The delegation of Tajikistan also took part in negotiations with the heads of leading tourism companies of the Republic of Korea and signed a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of tourism. The delegation of the country also attended Tourism opportunities Forum of Tajikistan, which was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Republic of Korea with the support of Somon Air. Also, there were meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of the Republic of Korea with the participation of the senior personnel of the airlines Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.
The sides noted to continue negotiations on the issue of opening a regular flight on the route Dushanbe – Seoul — Dushanbe and discussed the issues of signing code-share and interline agreements.
We remind that today, Somon Air is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and successfully operates flights from Tajikistan to Germany, UAE, Turkey, China, Russia, and Kazakhstan. The fleet of the airline consists of Boeing 737-300, -800 and -900.
