DUSHANBE, 26.01.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Emomali Rahmon’s message reads, in particular:

“Dear Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich,

It gives me a great pleasure to extend to you my sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of significant milestone date for our countries and peoples — the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

It is gratifying that over the past period, the relations of friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries have developed dynamically in various formats of partnership.

A solid bilateral legal framework for relations has been developed, mechanisms for their effective promotion have been created, and a multilevel political dialogue has been established between our countries on a wide range of topical issues on the international and regional agenda.

The impressive results achieved by joint efforts during a quarter of century made it possible to raise our interstate relations to the level of strategic partnership.

We are firmly convinced of the subsequent development of Tajik-Turkmen relations in this vein and express our readiness to jointly take all necessary measures to more fully reveal their enormous creative potential in accordance with the fundamental interests of our peoples

It is gratifying to realize that there is a mutual interest in further enhancing interstate dialogue and cooperation in all spheres on the basis of the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit of the friendly peoples of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.

Today our states successfully cooperate in a wide range of areas, and we attach great importance to further strengthening of bilateral relations that meet the long-term interests of our countries.
