Meetings of Tajikistan’s Ambassador at the Belarusian National Technical University
DUSHANBE, 22.02.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Belarus Mahmadsharif Haqdod met on February 19 with the first vice-rector of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) Georgy Vershin.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of academic cooperation, studying of Tajik citizens in BNTU, as well as increasing the number of Tajik students at this university.
The first vice-rector thoroughly briefed the Ambassador of Tajikistan on the scientific, educational and infrastructural capabilities of BNTU and told about the progress of Tajik students.
It was noted that cooperation between two countries has been dynamically developing in the field of education and science in recent years. In particular, if in 2010-2011 47 students from Tajikistan studied in Belarusian universities, then today there are more than 700 students, 183 of whom are studying at the BNTU.
Later on, Mahmadsharif Haqdod met with students of BNTU — citizens of Tajikistan. The Tajik diplomat informed the students about the relations of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Republic of Belarus, including issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic and humanitarian spheres. He also stressed the importance of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science.
Students asked questions, expressed views on the conditions of study and residence in Minsk and shared their impressions of life in Belarus.
