DUSHANBE, 27.02.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. In the football club “Khujand” there was a change of the head coach and director. Instead of Rustam Khojaev, Numonjon Yusupov became the head coach, and Murodjon Umarov — new club’s director. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the press service of the Football Federation of Tajikistan.

According to the source, after the losing a chance to reach the 2018 AFC Cup group stage, the leadership of the silver medalist of the championship of Tajikistan decided to change club’s head coach and director. Rustam Khojaev, under whose leadership “Khujand” won silver medals and the National Cup last year, was removed from his post due to the unsatisfactory club’s performance at the AFC Cup.

Also, the club’s director Shavkat Ibrohimov, who worked in this position since July 2016, lost his post. Murodjon Umarov was appointed as the new executive director of “Khujand”. The 48-year-old specialist previously worked for several years in Dushanbe’s FC “Istiqlol” as the sports director.

Their presentation took place on February 26 in the conference hall of the stadium of the 20th anniversary of Independence of Tajikistan. They were introduced by the first deputy chairman of the Sughd province Rustam Rahmatzoda, who wished them successful and fruitful work at their new posts.

FC “Khujand”, under the leadership of the new head coach, will hold its first official match on Friday, March 2. On this day, the wards of Numonjon Yusupov will meet with the current champion of the country – FC “Istiqlol” in the match for the Super Cup of Tajikistan to be held at the Hissor Central Stadium at 16:00.
