Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and the head of the EBRD Office in Tajikistan discussed the issues to implement joint project
KHUJAND, 23.02.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The acting chairman of the Sughd province Rajabboy Ahmadzoda met with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headed by Ayten Rustamova.
According to NIAT “Khovar” regional correspondent, during a friendly meeting, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, expressing his satisfaction with the current state of cooperation with the EBRD, noted that the role of this financial organization is very significant in the direction of implementing various projects.
It was stressed that namely by the bank’s support there are being implemented in the province a number of projects in the field of cleaning sewage pipes, recycling waste and providing the population with drinking water.
The head of Sughd province also drew the attention of EBRD representatives to establishing cooperation in the spheres of production, construction of social institutions, the import of passenger transport and implementation of priority plans for Sayhun town, which is under the construction.
The head of the EBRD Office in Tajikistan Ayten Rustamova, thanking the head of Sughd province for the warm welcome and fruitful cooperation, noted that the EBRD has productive cooperation with the banks of Tajikistan (“Eskhata”, “Imon International”).
Following the meeting, the two parties touched upon the issue of the implementation of the project “Solid Waste Management in Isfara city”, one of the goals of preparation and implementation of which is to improve the level of control over solid domestic waste, the sanitary condition of the city and the reduction of the number of infectious diseases through contact with solid domestic waste.
It should be noted that the project budget is $ 4 million, of which 2 million – grant and 2 million – a long-term soft loan.
