Junior team of Tajikistan will know its rivals in the 2018 Asian Championship on April 26
DUSHANBE, 29.03.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The draw for the final part of the 2018 Asian Championship among junior teams /U-16/ will be held on April 26 at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation in Kuala Lumpur, where Tajikistan’s junior team will also know out its rivals in the group. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the press service of the Football Federation of Tajikistan.
According to the source, AFC announced the composition of baskets for the draw of the final part of the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship. The junior team of Tajikistan is in the fourth basket together with the teams of Jordan, Afghanistan and Indonesia. This means that Tajik junior team will not definitely play with these teams in the championship’s group stage.
16 teams will participate at the 18th AFC U-16 Championship to be held from September 20 to October 7 in Malaysia. Four groups of 4 teams each will be formed during the draw. Following the results of the group round, the two best teams from each group will continue to fight for medals and form quarter-final pairs. Next, the games will be held on the Olympic system with the elimination.
The four best teams of the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship will receive berths for the 2019 World U-17 Cup to be held in Peru.
It should be noted that the Tajik junior team will take part in the final part of the Asian Championship for the third time in its history. Earlier, Tajik guys participated in the continental championships in 2006 and 2010. In the Asian Championship, which took place in 2006 in Singapore, Tajik juniors won bronze medals and a berth to the 2007 World Cup.

Basket 1: Malaysia, Iraq, Iran, North Korea.
Basket 2: Japan, Oman, Vietnam, South Korea.
Basket 3: Yemen, India, Thailand, Australia.
