Qatar supports Tajikistan’s global initiatives
DUSHANBE, 02.04.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Qatar Khisrav Sohibzoda met with the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Ambassador Tariq al-Ansari.
According to the MFA Information Department, during the meeting the parties discussed the issues of development of bilateral and multilateral partnership in order to ensure sustainable development and combat modern global challenges and threats.
“The Qatari side expressed its support for the efforts of Tajikistan to address the problems of sustainable development, promote the global water agenda, fight against terrorism and implement joint measures to prevent factors that generate terrorism and violent extremism in the region and beyond”, — reads the message of the ministry.
In this context, Tariq Al-Ansari assured that the high-ranking delegation of Qatar will take an active part in the International High-Level Conference on Combating Terrorism and Violent Extremism on May 3-4, 2018, and the International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” on June 20-22, 2018 in Dushanbe city.
Both parties also had an exchange of views on the issues of joint implementation of social and economic projects that contribute to the sustainable development of Tajikistan and the Central Asian region.
