DUSHANBE, 30.05.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On May 30, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat.
The discussion covered various aspects of bilateral Tajikistani – Pakistani cooperation, in particular, political and socio-economic ties.
The President of the country Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction over the friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between the countries that are gaining new content through the efforts of the Heads of State.
The two sides shared their views on the issues of improving bilateral coordination addressing joint struggle against terrorism, extremism, illicit drug trafficking and transnational organized crime.
Improving coordination between the security services of Tajikistan and Pakistan in the field of security and defense, military-technical cooperation to solve regional issues, seeking solutions for Afghanistan was noted important.
In addition, the parties also exchanged views on the implementation of the CASA-1000 transmission line and the use of extensive hydropower potential of Tajikistan.
