New JICA’s country strategy for Tajikistan discussed in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 23.05.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The new country strategy of JICA for the Republic of Tajikistan in accordance with the National Development Strategy for period 2016-2030 was discussed on May 22 in Dushanbe at the meeting of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Fayziddin Qahhorzoda with the mission of the Japan International Cooperation Agency /JICA/ headed by the Director-General of the East and Central Asia Department and the Caucasus of the JICA Headquarters Koji Fujiya, the secretariat of the Ministry of Finance of the country reports.
According to the source, during the meeting it was noted that the JICA country strategy will ensure the development of capacity in the basic social infrastructure in the transport sector, agricultural productivity, rural water supply, maternal and child health, human resources development in public service.
The parties had an exchange of views on topical issues regarding further financing steps and stages of JICA cooperation with a view to timely implementation of projects.
Summing up the meeting, the Minister of Finance F. Qahhorzoda expressed gratitude to all participants of the meeting for a meaningful and constructive conversation, as well as confidence that further mutual relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and JICA will develop successfully.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of JICA Representative Office in the Republic of Tajikistan Hideki Tanabe and National Coordinator of JICA in the Republic of Tajikistan Shokirjon Mahmadov.
