Tashkent hosts a joint meeting of representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
DUSHANBE, 24.05.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The joint meeting of representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was held yesterday, May 23 in Tashkent. This meeting took place within the framework of the meeting of the Coordination Working Group of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tajik Interior Ministry reported.
According to the source, the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan was represented by Interior Minister Colonel-General Ramazon Rahimzoda and a number of heads of relevant departments and divisions of the Ministry.
The meeting was opened by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Major-General Pulat Bobojonov, who, greeting the guests, noted that our peoples are bound by the centuries-old traditions of good-neighborliness, friendship and mutual respect.
“Mutually beneficial cooperation between the two ministries is strengthening, and we hope to achieve significant results in this regard”, — he stressed.
Ramazon Rahimzoda thanked Pulat Bobojonov for the warm welcome and stressed that the interior affairs bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan are satisfied with the expansion of mutually beneficial bilateral relations, including in combating crime, threats of the modern world, in sharing experiences, especially cross-border issues, as well as expressed confidence that interaction will further continue to develop.
The reports of the heads of the relevant departments of the parties on the implementation of previously signed agreements were heard, as well as the issues of the state of cooperation between the border police and in the field of road safety were discussed.
Bilateral documents are expected to be signed at a joint meeting of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
