Beijing hosted the First Model SCO Youth Conference 2018
DUSHANBE, 04.06.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The First Model SCO Youth Conference 2018 was held at the SCO headquarters in Beijing.
According to the SCO Secretariat in Beijing, the conference was attended by 17 undergraduates, 3 bachelors and 2 young doctoral students from 12 countries of the “SCO family”. Activists of the Youth League of the SCO member states tried to simulate a meeting of the SCO’s Heads of State Council.
The discussion on the final document lasted 5 hours and resulted in the achievement of consensus. During the “heated debates” the conference participants had an exchange of views on a wide range of issues of international and regional economic development, discussed prospects and measures to deepen cooperation in the sphere of youth policy in the SCO space in order to further strengthen mutual understanding and friendship among the peoples of Organization’s member states.
In his greeting to the young delegates, the SCO Secretary-General R. Alimov said: “The SCO is a young organization. Every fifth citizen in the space is a young man from 15 to 24 years old. It is a powerful force turned into the future. In the person of the SCO young generation, we see not only talented and enterprising young men and women, but also the most active part of the “SCO family”, which can solve not only current but also promising tasks”.
Following the discussion it was adopted a Joint statement of participants of the Model SCO Youth Conference 2018.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Deputy SCO Secretary-General A. Nosirov.
