DUSHANBE, 20.06.2018. /NIAT «Khovar»/. On the sidelines of the International High-level Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the World Bank Regional Vice-President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller.
The two sides discussed current matters relating to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and authoritative financial organization.
President of the country Emomali Rahmon pointed out that the World Bank makes a significant contribution to the implementation of initiatives of Tajikistan related to water issues.
It was expressed satisfaction over the World Bank’s support for development of energy, transportation, communications, natural disaster prevention and agrarian sectors.
It was noted that the support for agriculture, water supply, disaster management, education, Inclusive Development Index (IDI), Improving public financial management within the framework of the Partnership Program could drive priority of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting the parties also pointed to the necessity of increasing volumes of preferential loans and grants of the World Bank for Tajikistan for minimization of financial risks.
Both sides had a fruitful conversation on other issues being of mutual interest.
