Tajikistan, UN discussed issues of further interaction within the framework of the International Decade for Action “Water for sustainable development”, 2018-2028
DUSHANBE, 19.06.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General on economic and social affairs Mr. Liu Zhenmin on June 18 here in Dushanbe, MFA Information Department reports.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs S. Muhriddin expressed his appreciation to the UN Under-Secretary-General for participation at the High-Level International Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for sustainable development, 2018-2028” and marked the important role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges of our time.
It is reportedly said that during the meeting the issues of current cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations institutions and the perspective of further cooperation were discussed.
The parties also exchanged views on the issues of further interaction within the framework of the International Decade for Action “Water for sustainable development, 2018-2028”.
In conclusion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed satisfaction with the existing high level partnership and highlighted the commitment of Tajikistan for increasing an effective cooperation with the United Nations in implementing programmes aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.
