DUSHANBE, 17.07.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Exactly 3 weeks ago we informed about another victory of Mehrubon Sanginov over the known Mexican boxer Fermin Canedo in the article entitled “CONGRATULATIONS! Tajik athlete Mehrubon Sanginov defeated Mexican boxer Fermin Canedo”. This time, the world boxing champion on WBC and WBB version took up the challenge from another well-known Mexican boxer Jorge Rios.

“After my victory over Fermin Canedo, I was challenged by Jorge Rios, which I dignifiedly accepted and am now preparing to fight in Las Vegas to defend the honor of my homeland and once again raise our flag to commemorate victory. I am proud that I am a Tajik who crossed the ocean to glorify his country around the world”, — Mehrubon Sanginov told to NIAT “Khovar” correspondent.

According to him, a duel with Mexican boxer will be held on July 21 this year in Mexican city of Tijuana and will be broadcast on the Mexican TV Televisa at 7:00 local time (19:00 Dushanbe time).

In questions: What he knows about the next Mexican rival?; What he feels before the fight, which will once again take place on the ground of the opponent?; and How the preliminary training passes as a whole?, M. Sanginov answered so:

“The fight will take place in the middle weight category 75 kg. To be honest, I do not know anything about my opponent, only I know that he has 7 wins and 3 losses. The preparatory training, as always, goes well for me, I am in excellent shape and good health and I can confidently say that I will win over Jorge”.

“Practice shows that the athlete, first of all, must be confident in himself and worthy of evaluating his chances of victory. Of course, hard work also yields real results. As for preparing, I can say with confidence that everything goes right. A professional coach Justin Gamber, who coached many champions is engaged with me”, – added M. Sanginov.

“Professional boxing is a business, big money. For me, the main thing is raising the flag and prestige of my beloved homeland – Tajikistan at international competitions. If I were thinking about money, now I would be a banker or a lawyer or someone else, but I would not be doing boxing. That is, I did not come to boxing because of money, but to glorify my homeland”, — Mehrubon Sanginov recently told in an interview with TV “Safina”.

He also said that every time he feels that the whole Tajikistan is behind him and namely with such motivation he will enter the ring to win.

We will recall that Mehrubon Sanginov was born on 3 February 1996 in Dushanbe. He is the head of the Dushanbe Boxing Federation and member of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan. He makes his debut in the professional ring. In the national and Olympic teams Tajikistan successfully performed at international competitions. Mehrubon used to play football, played for the team of the RSVSM and even for the youth team of Tajikistan.
