CIS member states to discuss cooperation in the field of employment
DUSHANBE, 28.08.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Two draft documents on cooperation — the Agreement on cooperation in the field of employment of the population and the General principles for cooperation of the CIS member states in providing employment opportunities for individual population groups: youth, disabled people, women and other persons — will be considered at the meeting of the working groups of experts on cooperation in the field of employment to be held on August 30-31 in Minsk, the CIS Executive Committee reports.
It is noted that the development of both documents is provided by the decision of the CIS Economic Council of 17 March 2017 on the Concept of the phased formation of the general labor market and the regulation of labor migration in the Commonwealth countries and the Priority actions for the formation of a common labor market and the regulation of labor migration for 2017-2020. The decision was signed by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
“The Agreement on cooperation in the field of employment of the population is necessary to provide assistance to the CIS countries in developing and improving the efficiency of programs and services implemented by civil service and employment centers aimed at reducing unemployment in the states. In addition, the document will promote the expansion of job opportunities for certain groups of the population who are not able to compete on an equal footing in the labor market, increase labor mobility, develop a common labor market, reduce informal employment, streamline labor migration”, — the report says.
It is expected that following the meeting the CIS relevant agencies on the employment of the population will share their experience in this direction.
