DUSHANBE, 18.08.2018. /NIAT «Khovar»/. On the sidelines of his state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuridin Ismoilov.

The two sides discussed various aspects of the bilateral relations.

The President of our country Emomali Rahmon expressed his confidence that the results of the Tajikistani – Uzbekistani high level talks are of great importance for the development of relations between the two countries.

It was stressed that the current bilateral relations with their level, quality and sustainable development in all spheres are gaining ever greater priorities, as they cover political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The sides expressed their interest in strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, in particular, the activating of the work of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups and the exchange of experience in direction of legislation.

The two sides considered it necessary to further boost cooperation in various fields of economy, culture, science, education, military-technical, trade and economic, transportation, as well as security in order to ensure peace and stability in the region.

The sides also shared thoughts and positions on issues of mutual interest.

In conclusion, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon invited the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuridin Ismoilov to visit Tajikistan any time convenient for him.
