Tajikistan’s teams on jiu-jitsu, judo and weightlifting will take part in 2018 Asian Games
DUSHANBE, 07.08.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The national teams of Tajikistan on jiu-jitsu, judo and weightlifting will take part in the 18th Asian Games to be held from August 18 to September 2 this year in the cities of Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
According to the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the competitions on jiu-jitsu will be held on August 24-26, weightlifting – on August 20-27, judo – on August 29-31.
It is reportedly said that the jiu-jitsu competitions will be held in six weight categories among men and in two weight categories in the style of “New Vase” among women. Tajik wrestlers will take part in three weight categories.
“The judo competitions will take place in seven weight categories among men and seven among women. In weightlifting, athletes will compete in eight weight categories among men and seven among women”, — said the source.
It should be noted that the type of jiu-jitsu wrestling is included in the Asian Games program for the first time.
