DUSHANBE, 14.09.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. “Khovar” state news agency received an appeal from religious figures of the Sughd province, in which the inflammatory acts of the leaders of the Islamic renaissance party /IRP/ in Warsaw are condemned. The appeal, in particular, reads:

“We, the senior khatibs and imam khatibs, in general, all representatives of the clergy of the Sughd province, are extremely surprised and can not find an answer to our question, namely: for what purpose in the heart of Europe — in Warsaw, the authoritative organization — the OSCE – holds meeting? The true purpose of this respected organization, as its name implies, is to ensure security and stability. But the presence and participation of representatives of a terrorist and extremist organization at its meetings may call into question its mission. As we learned, at one such meeting, a small group of fugitives, traitors to the Tajik nation announced the formation of a certain notorious alliance, and its leader Muhiddin Kabiri, forgetting about honor and conscience, made some statements on behalf of the nation. The statement of this traitor and criminal provokes profound perplexity among us, leaders of religion. At the same time, we condemn this act and appeal to the organizers of the meeting in Warsaw with the following demand:

Dear OSCE leaders and employees!

Do you know that in Tajikistan, a country friendly to you, the Islamic renaissance party has been declared a terrorist and extremist organization, and its leaders and followers, especially Muhiddin Kabiri, are wanted by Interpol? But you support them and give them a tribune.

You, the OSCE leaders, always state that your organization carries out activities against terrorism and extremism in the world, and do not allow extremists and terrorists to commit their criminal acts. But, unfortunately, in practice you are pursuing a policy of double standards.

In the teachings of all religions of the world, traitors of the homeland are considered the worst people, and those who commit crimes are considered to be the cause of strife, who betrayed the nation, the homeland and the madhab do not deserve any support.

We, the religious figures of the Sughd province, demand of the international organizations, especially the OSCE and the organizers of the meeting, to recognize newly formed coalition of renaissances as the scandalous, and at subsequent meetings not admit leaders and followers of the TEO IRP.

We strongly demand of those states where they are currently living to extradite them to Tajikistan, so that they respond to the people and the law”.
