On the sideline of the Meeting of the Heads of Government Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Rumas.

The President of our country, Emomali Rahmon, welcomed Prime Minister of Belarus here in Tajikistan and expressed satisfaction with the smooth development of the Tajik-Belarus relations that has been achieved thanks to the constant efforts of the Heads of the two states.

The two sides discussed the current status of bilateral and multilateral cooperation within the framework of international organizations and stressed that these relationships are built on mutual trust and respect, so as to promote the Tajik-Belarussian relations to strategic partnership.

It was stressed that the official visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Tajikistan will yield a powerful impetus to the development of cooperation between the two countries.

They also discussed the issues to advance the mutually beneficial trade and economic, industrial and agricultural cooperation.

Launching of the joint venture for assembling tractors and other types of agricultural machinery «Agrotechservice» in Hissor and joint project on cultivation of fruit orchards in Brest and Gomel of Belarus were named as the best examples of bilateral cooperation.

The sides also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
