Japanese cultural fair to take place in Dushanbe from October 27-28
A Cultural Fair “JAPAN DAYS” will take place at Ismaili Center in Dushanbe from October 27-28.
According to Japan’s Embassy in Dushanbe, Japanese cultural fair is the event with a variety of demonstrations and exhibitions on cultures and traditions of Japan and Tajikistan. The theme of the event will be “Tourism and Crafts of Japan” dedicated to the Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts Development in Tajikistan.
“JAPAN DAYS” is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan, and Committee on the Tourism Development under the Government of Tajikistan.
The opening ceremony of the Japanese Cultural Fair “JAPAN DAYS” followed by a music concert will be held on Saturday, October 27, from 17:30 at the Tajik State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Sadriddin Ayni. During the concert, guests will listen to Tajik music performed by Japanese musician and Japanese music performed by Tajik artistes. At the end, students from Tajik State Institute of Languages and Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University will perform Japanese dance «Soran-Busi» originated in Japanese northern island Hokkaido. The dance shows every stage of fishing, movements imitate the pulling of nets, throwing fish as well as the movement of the wave. Distinguished guests can also visit exhibition dedicated to Japanese folk crafts and tourism at the same place from 16:30 to 17:30. It is admission free event.
The two-day “JAPAN DAYS” program will contain the following events: master classes on origami by leading origami artist Ms. Elena Kabachinskaya and Japanese traditional game Kendama by master Mr. Kentaro Arai, Japanese food tasting, exhibition of Toyota cars, Japanese traditional crafts and dolls made by artist Azza Kanoat using Japanese technology, presenting pop-culture, playing games and other activities. It is also admission free event.
Numerous activities of “JAPAN DAYS” will serve as an opportunity to demonstrate friendship between the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan, and give great opportunity for all visitors to enjoy cultures and traditions of Japan in lively atmosphere.
