DUSHANBE, 14.11.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. At each stage of history, individuals come to power, who spend all their talent and business skills on the development of the country and raising the prestige of the state at the international arena, as well as put the interests of the state and government above their own.

At the beginning of the XXI century, such a heavy responsibility fell on the shoulders of the wise son of the people, an outstanding political figure, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. In that important historical period, this patriot not only saved the nation from extermination, but also opened up a wide path for the country’s further prosperity. In continuation of the noble goals, the Leader of the Nation took the initiative to build the century’s largest construction site — the Roghun Hydroelectric Power Plant /HPP/ and personally cut off the riverbed of the Vakhsh River.

Thus, the head of Tajik state with incredible efforts again began its construction and in exactly 10 years (2008-2018) launched the first unit of this grandiose facility that gives light.

During this historical period, the head of state Emomali Rahmon has repeatedly made speeches at the high tribunes of authoritative international organizations and explained the need for this facility for the further development of Tajikistan, as well as defended the importance of this facility at regional meetings. Along with this, he has presented an overview on expanding of this profitable project to the majority of international financial organizations and assessed important the role of this facility for the development of various economic spheres of our beloved homeland.

Most importantly, during his working trips to cities and regions of the republic, he shared his thoughts on the country’s development prospects and emphasized the importance of construction of the Roghun HPP, as well as assured people that the Tajik people are able to independently build a hydroelectric power plant and complete its construction on scheduled time.

The head of state Emomali Rahmon has repeatedly pointed out that Roghun HPP will not only give light to the Tajik people, but also a serious impulse to improve the economic and social situation in the country.

Taking into account the prominent role of this grandiose facility, the Leader of the Nation created an Observers Council chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan at the Roghun HPP. The mentioned Council was tasked to monthly familiarize itself with the activities of the builders of the Roghun HPP and regularly present the written and oral reports on the results of their tireless work. Based on this, the daily work of the builders of the Roghun HPP was taken under constant control, and the construction process got new impetus.

The builders of Roghun HPP were well aware that the construction of the facility was under the direct control of the President of the country, so they worked with double enthusiasm. The glorious and unwavering builders of Roghun HPP promised the head of state that they would overcome all the difficulties associated with the tunnels construction and perform the work in a timely manner and at a high quality level.

They not only kept their promise, but also organized the work in three shifts. They sent all their strengths and labor skills in order to achieve goals and completed construction works in the appointed time. Thanks to the persistence and high labor enthusiasm, the construction of this facility is in full swing, and in many sites work is being done around the clock.

The President of the country from the first days of the beginning of construction emphasized that he believes in the firmness and hardness of the people, because they are able to build such a grandiose facility of the century. This truth was confirmed, and the glorious patriotic Tajik people managed to proudly raise the name of the head of state and put into operation the first unit of the Roghun HPP in a timely manner. The contribution of each worker to the realization of this noble undertaking became evident, which proved the unity of thoughts and deeds.

The glorious Tajik people are proud of their Leader Emomali Rahmon. Since every creative initiative that he puts forward, he heads to the very end, at the end he receives new inspiration and follows new patriotic ideas. Thus, the Leader of the Nation initiated the construction of the Roghun HPP, patiently overcame all the problems and obstacles, courageously began the construction of the facility and after 10 years achieved the desired goal.

The far-sighted head of state is well aware that this facility will solve many social and economic problems, as well as will create conditions for thousands of new jobs. Low-cost energy will contribute to create large and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises and change local infrastructure.

Taking this into account, the Leader of the Nation noted: “The use of domestic resources and capabilities of Tajikistan, especially the generation of low-cost electricity through the use of hydropower resources will contribute to the development of all economic spheres of the country, solving social problems and fundamentally improve the level and quality of life of the glorious people of Tajikistan”.

Improving the living standards will make sure that different segments of the population receive permanent jobs, take care of raising children and eliminate the need for labor migration. Along with this, for the development of science and education, as well as for the improvement of training and upbringing will be created fertile ground and conditions.

The birth of light is the birth of the new happiness of the Tajik people under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.

This noble initiative of the Leader of the Nation opens a new stage in the life of the Tajik people and lays a real basis for the further development.
