Tajik Minister of Culture Met With the World Bank Mission
DUSHANBE, 25.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda met with the World Bank (WB) mission led by Andrea Dall’Olio yesterday in Dushanbe.
The parties shared their views on the development of cooperation in the field of restoration and reconstruction of unique historical monuments, the introduction of modern technologies, the construction of buildings and museums in a modern style, the effective use of the country’s tourism potential in attracting foreign tourists, reported the Tajik Ministry of Culture.
The WB representatives expressed their views on the bank’s initiative to contribute to the care and preservation of four historical monuments, including the natural and historical complex Chiluchorchashma (meaning 44 spring), the architectural complex Madrasah Khoja Mashhad, the medieval town Hulbuk and the fortress Yamchun. They also made a number of proposals to create favorable conditions for the development of tourism, the construction of hotels and retail outlets for the sale of folk crafts.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand further cooperation.
