Tajik Students Won Multiple Medals at the International Olympiad
DUSHANBE, 18.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Five teams from Tajikistan competed in the 15th International Olympiad in mathematics, physics and information science, which ended on January 15 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Eighty-two teams from 18 countries competed in the Olympiad, reported the Tajik-Russian Hotam and PV School.
“The participation of Tajik students can be considered very successful, since they had never won 13 medals at the Olympiad,” noted the source.
Tajik students became recipients of two gold, one silver and ten bronze medals. Most of the medals were won by students from the Tajik-Russian Hotam and PV School.
“Two gold, one silver and six bronze medals were won by students of the Tajik-RussianHotam and PV School,” clarified the source.
“Three bronze medals were received by teams from theSchool for the Gifted Children and another bronze medal was won by the student of the Economic School,” added the source.
DalerPirov, a 10th-grader, and an 11th-grader NaimjonKhonjonov won gold medals in physics and mathematics respectively. A silver medal in physics was received by an 11th grade student Farahmand Hasanov and bronze medals were won by 9th gradersShorukhjonIsomatov, Sino Khairiddinov, Jamshed Rustamov and VazirjonPirov, all of whom attend the Tajik-Russian Hotam and PV School.
The remaining bronze medals were received by 11th gradersDavlatkhojaMaqsumov and Akmal Mamadshoev — in information science, Timur Salomatshoev — in physics, RahmonjonSobirov, SohibjonAvgonov and JahongirUroqov — in mathematics.
