We Are Against Doping! A Training Course for Sports Coaches Begins in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 08.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The National Olympic Committee (NOC) launched a three-day training course yesterday in the building of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports (CYAS).
Federation and sports school coaches from Dushanbe are expected to attend the course, reported an official of the NOC Umarali Safarali.
The three-day course includes lectures titled “What is a Doping?” “The Main Documents Regulating Anti-Doping Activity,” “The Creation and Functions of the World Anti-Doping Agency,” “International Anti-Doping Measures in Sports,” “Anti-Doping Measures at Government Levels,” “Acquaintance with the List of Banned Medicines in Sports,” “Procedure for Doping Evaluation,” “Results of Doping and Its Impact on the Rank and Personal Life of the Athlete” and others.
The Secretary General of the NOC and Chairman of the National Anti-Doping Organization of Tajikistan Muhammadsho Abdullozoda and the Director General of the NOC Erkin Latipov participated during the first day of the course.
Speakers noted that the government of Tajikistan takes all measures to combat doping in sports. A Republican Center for Rehabilitation of Athletes in Dushanbe is open.
In 2018, four Tajik athletes, including two Judo and Sambo athletes, were convicted by the World Anti-Doping Agency for the use of banned medicines and were excluded from participation in sports competitions for two and four years.
The NOC and the CYAS are taking all measures to combat doping.
