Dushanbe-Chanak Highway Reopened
DUSHANBE, 19.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Dushanbe-Chanak highway is now open to all vehicles except for cars with trailers and trucks, reported Daler Abdullo, the head of the Press Center of the Tajik branch of the international company Innovative Road Solutions LTD (IRS), which oversees the highway.
“Traffic was temporarily suspended the last two days on the basis of a joint requirement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan due to adverse weather conditions,” said Abdullo.
“There is still an avalanche risk in the area, and we are asking the drivers to be careful while driving,” Abdullo added.
