DUSHANBE, 12.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The state support program for financial and economic rehabilitation of the national air carrier Tajik Air for 2018-2023 was adopted according to a government decree. An action plan and specific measures to improve the domestic air carrier were developed within the program, reported the CEO of Tajik Air Dilshod Ismatullozoda at a press conference of the Tajik Civil Aviation Agency and Aviation Enterprises yesterday in Dushanbe.
“The action plan includes both a way out of the financial crisis and updating equipment, importing new aircrafts, selling illiquid assets, paying off loans, expanding the areas of flights and other points. But first of all, this includes resuming flights. The work is already underway toward this direction,” said Ismatullozoda.
After the airline’s outdated equipment is sold, and the proceeds will be used to rehabilitate the state-owned air carrier.
“We hope that the implementation of the planned measures will lead to the improvement of the company in the near future,” Ismatullozoda noted.
In 2018, Tajik Air delayed 799 or 27% of the scheduled 2974 flights. During this period, Tajik Air transported over 325,000 passengers.
