Tajikistan Will Participate in a Regional Forum on Natural Disasters
DUSHANBE, 25.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – A regional forum devoted to natural disasters in Central Asia countries and financial protection mechanisms will be held tomorrow in Almaty, Kazakhstan, reported the forum’s organizing committee.
Tajik, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and Uzbek officials will attend the forum.
The Deputy Minister of Finance Abdurahmon Halimzod and the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Rustam Shohiyon will represent Tajikistan.
Central Asia is exposed to numerous natural hazards and the impact of disasters is expected to be exacerbated by urbanization, population growth and climate change.
During the forum, representatives of these Central Asian countries will discuss various mechanisms of financial protection from natural disasters, as well as ways to respond to them.
