DUSHANBE, 19.03.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.

A positive assessment was given to the bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia in all spheres, including the regional partnership with Tatarstan.

Considering the existing conditions and possibilities, the spheres such as industry, transportation, communications and the agro-industry were identified as promising areas of bilateral cooperation. The two sides expressed their confidence that due to joint efforts, the direct links and dialogue among businesses and financial circles the integration between Tajikistan and Tatarstan would be raised to a new qualitative level.

Interest was expressed on establishing bilateral cooperation in mining, oil and gas industry, heavy and light industries, and chemical processing and pharmaceuticals.

The two sides affirmed their readiness to increase supplies of environmentally healthy fruit and vegetables to the Tatarstan market and stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the regions of Tajikistan and Tatarstan in the agricultural sector.

The Tajik– Tatar business forum was assessed as a good impetus for expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially investment, manufacturing, logistics and agro-industrial complex, banking, migration and healthcare.

For the development and expansion of bilateral cooperation, the need to use the opportunities of free economic zones of Tajikistan, to build and maintain technological parks in Tajikistan, to create a joint labor market and to train highly qualified specialists for various socio-economic areas of Tajikistan were also emphasized.

The sides also exchanged views on the wider possibilities of developing bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, science, education and culture.
