Tajikistan Will Host the Week of the Republic of Korea in 2019
DUSHANBE, 14.03.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda met with Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Korea in Tajikistan Lee Woo Chul on Wednesday in Dushanbe.
The parties discussed strengthening cultural cooperation and the action plan for 2019, reports the Tajik Ministry of Culture.
“The Week of the Republic of Korea in Tajikistan is planned to be held in 2019, which will consist of taekwondo competitions, a festival of Korean films and the Days of the Republic of Korea,”noted Woo Chul.
“The people of Tajikistan have a special respect for the culture and art of Korea. I would, within the limits of my opportunities, promote in every possible way the holding of events not only in the capital, but also in other regions in order to familiarize the Tajik people with the culture and art of Korea,” noted Orumbekzoda supporting Woo Chul’s initiative.
The parties exchanged views on the activities of the Committee for Storytelling Art, which supports the publication of fairy tales by authors from Central Asia, and is seen as an important step for the development of the art of the fairy tale narration and the unification of children from different countries.
