Afghan FM Rabbani: Afghanistan Appreciates Tajikistan’s Continued Support in Ensuring Peace and Security
DUSHANBE, 17.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan Shukurjon Zuhurov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani yesterday in Dushanbe to discuss multilateral cooperation.
The parties touched upon bilateral trade and economic relations and expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the field of energy and the timely implementation of a major regional project, reported the Press Secretary of the Assembly of Representatives Muhammadato Sultonov.
“The expantion of the friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with Afghanistan is one of the priorities of Tajikistan’s foreign policy,” said Zuhurov.
In recent years, both countries have established good cooperation in the political, security, economic, trade, water, energy, industry, culture, healthcare and other areas of mutual interest, mentioned Zuhurov.
“We appreciate the continued support of Tajikistan in ensuring peace and security in our country,” highlighted Rabbani.
“We are very pleased that this friendly country always calls on the world community and international organizations to provide security and stability in our country and to rebuild the post-conflict disadvantages,” said Rabbani.
Rabbani visited Tajikistan to attend the high-level conference International and Regional Cooperation on Countering Terrorism and Its Financing Through Illicit Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime, which commenced today in Dushanbe.
