DUSHANBE, 24.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Continuing his working visit in Dangara, on May 24, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with active representatives of the Khatlon Province.

The meeting focused on thr socio-economic development of cities and districts of Khatlon, including in the agricultural sector, and set specific tasks for leaders and responsible persons to solve existing problems and eliminate shortcomings.

In his speech, President Emomali Rahmon summed up the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development program of Khatlon through 2020 and spoke about the utilization of resources and opportunities to ensure the development of priority areas, support entrepreneurship, attract domestic and external capital, increase the processing of agricultural products and the volume of its exports, create production enterprises and new jobs.

It was stressed that, despite the achievements made in recent years, the region and its cities and districts do not fully use the available opportunities and potential.

As part of the medium-term program of the  development of the region, the realization of 279 projects has been planned, but to date, the work has not commenced for 172 projects.

Due to this, President Emomali Rahmon instructed the ministries and agencies, the executive body of the state authorities of Khatlon, and its cities and districts to take the necessary measures to seek sources for the outstanding items of the development plan and  to submit to the government a detailed report on the work done.

At the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon gave instructions and orders regarding the implementation of the budget revenue plan for the the cities and districts of the region, the creation of industrial enterprises, attraction of direct investment, import of modern technologies, the development of the country’s industrialization, processing of agricultural products, acceleration of field work, efficient utilization of land, increasing exports of agricultural products, expanding landscaping in honor of the 30th anniversary of the state independence of Tajikistan, improvement of social spheres and solution to other important issues related to the social and economic life of the country.

During the meeting, the chairman of  Khatlon Kurbon Hakimzoda, the chairmen of a number of cities and districts of the region, and other responsible persons reported on the work done in the last five months of this year.
