Storm Warning Issued for Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 22.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Agency for Hydrometeorology of Tajikistan is warning the public of unstable weather for May 23-25. The daily temperature in the valleys is expected to fall by 10-15 degrees.
By the end of the week, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and hail are expected throughout the country, except for the GBAO region.
On May 23, westerly wind reaching 15-20 m/s is expected in some regions of the republic, save for GBAO. Cloudy, rainy weather with hail and a thunderstorm are expected in Dushanbe.
On May 24-25, metereologists warn of possible mudflows in the mountainous and foothill areas of the Khatlon province, and in the west of GBAO and Sughd province.
