DUSHANBE, 12.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Members of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan discussed over 20 important issues relating to the political and socio-economic life of the country at the 19th session of the National Assembly, which was held today in Dushanbe.

A number of amendmnets were approved during the session, including «On Prosecution Bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan,» «On Military Status,» «On introducing amendments and additions to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan,» «On introducing amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan,» «On introducing amendments and additions to the Procedural Code of the Republic of Tajikistan,» «On Enforcement Proceedings,» «On Police,» «On the Public Notary,» and «On Military Intelligence of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan.»

The Chairmen of the Committees of the National Assembly Ozoda Rahmon, Zafar Fayzullozoda, Farhod Rahimi and Rahmonali Amirzoda commented on the considered issues and noted that the laws are aimed primarily at improving the legislation, bringing the laws in line with the constitution and other regulatory acts of the country, strengthening the rule of law in society, improving the legal literacy of citizens, strengthening peace and stability, the development of the national economy and the improvement of societal problems.

Taking into consideration the proposals made by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, a number of appointments to the judicial authority have been approved.

Following the session, Muhammadyusuf Imomzoda, Nargis Rahmonova, Rahmonali Amirzoda and Farhod Rahimi were awarded with medals and honorary diplomas of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States for their worthy contribution to strengthening the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the CIS member states.
