President Emomali Rahmon and Cambodian Prime Minister Discuss Cooperation Perspectives
DUSHANBE, 15.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, in the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen.
The meeting focused on the perspectives of cooperation between Tajikistan and Cambodia.
President Emomali Rahmon welcomed the distinguished guest and stressed that Tajikistan is interested in enhancing constructive relations with Cambodia.
Prime Minister Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to President Emomali Rahmon and the government of Tajikistan for the warm welcome and sincere hospitality.
In order to strengthen trade and economic relations, parties considered it necessary to expand cooperation in the fields of agriculture, light industry, production and processing of leather and wool, the creation of joint weaving and clothing enterprises for the production of clothing and footwear in Tajikistan.
It was proposed to establish an Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in order to develop the economic relations of the two countries.
The establishment of joint industrial enterprises, the import of finished weaving products, the intensification of goods exchange between the two countries through the organization of business forums and the establishment of the Council of Entrepreneurs were called expedient.
The meeting also focused on the issues relating to the strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism and other mutual aspects.
