Tajik Statisticians Training to Collect Data on Mobile Devices
DUSHANBE, 18.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) and the UNFPA Country Office in Tajikistan have organized a ten-day regional training on the use of mobile devices for data collection using CSPro (Census and Survey Processing System) software package on Android. The began started yesterday and will last until June 27.
CSPro is a public domain software package for entering, editing, tabulating and disseminating census and survey data. National statistical agencies can benefit from adopting the mobile data collection application and replicate the success of other countries in collecting census and survey data, reported the Press Center of the Agency for Statistics.
The training is funded by the UNFPA with substantial technical support from the Agency for Statistics.
This training is part of the preparation of the EECA region countries for the upcoming census round for the 2019-2022 period. Along with ten Agency for Statistics employees, relevant experts from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are also invited to participate in the training.
The knowledge gained by the relevant specialists will be used for the upcoming census round in their respective countries and for conducting various surveys using mobile devices.
The participants will be awarded certificates upon completion of the training courses.
