Tajikistan, Belarus sign strategic partnership treaty
DUSHANBE, 28.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – A joint statement of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the President of the Republic of Belarushas been issued and treaty on strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Belarus have been signed following the talks between President Emomali Rahmon and President Alexander Lukashenko during President Emomali Rahmon’s visit to Belarus.
Additionally, a new cooperation agreements listed below were also signed.
The new cooperation agreements include those between the General Prosecutor’s Office of Tajikistan and the Investigative Committee of Belarus, the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Information of Belarus in the field of information, between the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan and that of Belarus in the use of genetic resources of plants and animals for commercial products, the Ministry of Education of both states in the field of vocational, secondary special and professional education, between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of both countries, and between the Civil Service Agency of Tajikistan and the Academy of Public Administration of Belarus.
A Tajik – Belarusian Executive Program on Scientific and Technological Cooperation for 2019-2020 and a program of cooperation in the sphere of physical culture and sports between the Committee on Youth Affairs and Sport under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and its Belarusian counterpart have also been signed.
Due to the continual efforts of the heads of state, the relations between Tajikistan and Belarus have reached a new level.
Following the signing ceremony, President Rahmon and President Lukashenko briefed the press.
