Emomali Rahmon Attends European Games Closing Ceremony
DUSHANBE, 01.07.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – As part of his official visit to Belarus, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended the closing ceremony of the second European Games Minsk 2019, which took place in the Dinamo Stadium.
President Emomali Rahmon took part in this international multi-sport competition at the invitation of President Lukashenko.
The competition which includes European athletes is held every four years under the direction of the European Olympic Committees. The first European Games were held from June 12 to June 28, 2015, in Azerbaijan.
The European Games include various sports such as archery, badminton, basketball, beach soccer, boxing, canoe sprint, cycling, gymnastics, judo, karate, sambo, shooting, table tennis, and wrestling.
Minsk hosted the European Games under the slogan «The Time of Great Victories,” from 21-30 June. Over 3,844 athletes from 50 countries competed for 200 awards in 15 sports.
