Meeting of heads of states of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan
DUSHANBE, 26.07.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The meeting between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov has been held in Oriyono Complex of Isfara, Sughd Province. The talks, which began in a restricted format and then continued with the participation of the two countries’ delegations, covered in expanding and developing multifaceted cooperation based on friendship and good neighborliness.
The parties agreed to continue negotiations at the level of the Governmental Commissions of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border in order to complete the delimitation process and conduct consultations and negotiations on legal issues.
The meeting was of historic importance and brings the two countries closer to the implementation of the process of delimitation and demarcation of the state border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The completion of work on the legalization of the state border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will have a positive impact on the whole range of relations between the two countries.
