President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Liqun Jin
DUSHANBE, 19.08.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and Natioanl Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Liqun Jin. The meeting took place in the Palace of the Nation in Dushanbe.
For the last five years, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank has been contributing to the investment of numerous projects aimed at creating infrastructure in Asian countries and is Tajikistan’s reliable development partner.
The effective cooperation of Tajikistan and AIIB on financing the Dushanbe-Tursunzoda-Uzbekistan border road improvement project and the rehabilitation of Nurek power plant reaffirms the state and the bank’s readiness to see the realization of projects in the areas of road, transportation, and infrastructure renovation and development.
The parties exchanged their views on further cooperation between Tajikistan and the AIIB, based on the strategic goals and international initiatives of Tajikistan in the field of water, energy and the environment.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
