Assembly of Representative’s Council Discusses the Law On Amnesty
DUSHANBE, 24.10.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – The Council of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan discussed the draft law «On Amnesty.» This issue was discussed yesterday during the session of the Council of the Assembly of Representatives. The session was chaired by Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.
The Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Human Rights of the Assembly of Representatives Emomali Nasriddinzoda noted that the draft law “On Amnesty” was proposed by the President using the rights of legislative initiative for consideration by the Assembly of Representatives.
The draft of this law provides for the exemption from criminal liability and punishment of persons with respect to whom criminal cases are under consideration by the bodies of inquiry, preliminary investigation or the courts, or who are serving the sentence on the basis of a court verdict.
The session participants also reviewed the draft constitutional law “On Introducing Amendments to the Constitutional Law of Tajikistan ‘On Local Government Agencies'» and other issues.
