Republican Conference on Strengthening the Family Unit Held in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 27.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Committee for Women and Family Affairs (CWFA) under the government of Tajikistan opened the conference “Family’s Strengthening – the Basis of a Legal Society” in Dushanbe.
Representatives of the Presidential Executive Office, ministries and agencies, heads of departments and sectors for women and family affairs of cities and districts, members of CWFA’s Council of Peacekeeping Women, as well as representatives of the Prevention of Domestic Violence Project in Tajikistan attended the conference.
“The conference’s aim is to protect the interests of the family as a social unit and place for raising children, increasing family education and ensuring family stability, and to discuss the impact of labor migration on family relationships, and the prevention of domestic violence, terrorism and extremism, fanaticism, drug addiction and trafficking, alcoholism, suicide, diseases such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis,” noted the First Deputy CWFA’s Chairman Marhabo Olimi.
During the conference, representatives of other ministries and agencies reported on the necessary means of establishing effective activities, carrying out propaganda, scientific, practical, educational and cultural work, as well as producing TV shows with the involvement of experts, reputable exemplary families and activists.
Following the conference, the participants presented proposals for eliminating existing threats in society in order to strengthen the family.
