Minister of Health Olimzoda Meets with Ambassadors and Representatives of International Organizations on Covid-19
DUSHANBE, 05.03.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Nasim Olimzoda met with ambassadors and representatives of foreign embassies and international organizations in Tajikistan, including Russia, France, Afghanistan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, China, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkmenistan, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, America, Korea, EU, OSCE, UN, and the Aga Khan Foundation. The focus of the meeting was the global coronovarious outbreak.
“The issue of coronavirus prevention is directly controlled by President Emomali Rahmon,” Olimzoda stated.
“The Ministry of Health receives information from the World Health Organization about the state of coronavirus worldwide on a daily basis,” Olimzoda noted.
He also stated that up to 1500 people who arrived from China, South Korea, Italy, Afghanistan and Iran have been quarantined. As of March 4, only 320 people are in quarantine, and the rest had been allowed to return to their homes.
Currently, only citizens who arrived from China, South Korea, Italy, Afghanistan and Iran, will be quarantined.
At present, goods are imported into Tajikistan from Afghanistan, but vehicles will are being disinfected before entry.
“A center has been established in order to prevent coronavirus,” Olimzoda noted.
