Tajikistan Celebrates Navruz Today
DUSHANBE, 21.03.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, all cities and districts of Tajikistan celebrate the long-awaited spring holiday of Navruz.
Every year this holiday is celebrated in Tajikistan on a large scale. Navruz is associated with the renewal of nature and all living things. This holiday originates from ancient times and has more than six thousand years of history.
These days, festive events, colorful programs and sports competitions are planned across the country in culture and recreation parks and sports facilities of provinces, cities and districts.
In September 2009, Navruz was included in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO, and at the end of February 2010, the 64th session of the UN General Assembly declared March 21 as International Navruz Day.
