Tajikistan Develops Emergency Response Plan on Covid-19
DUSHANBE, 11.03.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A working meeting on the development of the country’s emergency response plan on COVID-19 kicked off yesterday in Dushanbe. The meeting was initiated by the WHO Country Office for Tajikistan and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population.
Deputies Minister of Health Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda, Shodikhon Jamshed, representatives of ministries and departments, international organizations and institutions, heads and employees of a number of healthcare institutions attended the meeting.
Kamolzoda noted that the republican staff headed by Deputy Prime Minister Shirin Ismatullozoda is currently functioning under the government of Tajikistan in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
According to the republican staff’s instructions, internal staffs operate under all state ministries and departments. The staff of the Ministry of Health began its activities since January 23.
Currently 113 states confirmed coronavirus, which infected 110 thousand people.
From February 1 through March 9, 1566 citizens who arrived from South Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran and Afghanistan have been quarantined.
The meeting also focused on reports relating to the various aspects of coronavirus infection.
The working meeting will run until March 12, and the country’s emergency response plan on COVID-19 will be developed.
