Agricultural Output Volume on the Upswing Since January 2020
DUSHANBE, 16.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The gross agricultural output volume in all farms categories for the first three month of 2020 amounted to 1.584 billion somoni. Compared to the same period of 2019 this is an increase of 7.5% (in comparable prices). In particular, crop production volume amounted to 20.9 million somoni, which is 1.6 times more, and livestock amounted to 1.563 billion somoni, which is 7.0% more, reports the Tajik Statistical Agency.
The share of public enterprises in the total gross output amounted to 17.3%.
For the mentioned period, 15 tons of potatoes, 3019.1 tons of vegetables and 12.5 tons of fruits were produced in all farms categories, which is 1.6 times more than in the same period last year. Of the total vegetable production, 783.1 tons were produced in greenhouses of public and private farms.
Also, as of April 1, the number of cattle in all categories of farms amounted to 2.369 million heads, which is 1.0% more than for the corresponding period last year. During this period, the number of sheep and goats amounted to 5906.7 thousand heads, which is likewise 1.1% more.
