Tajik Delegation Attends the UNECE Regional Forum on Sustainable Development in Geneva
DUSHANBE, 14.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The delegation of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizoda took part in the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) regional forum on sustainable development from March 13 through March 14 in Geneva.
During the forum, it was held a dialogue between the UNECE member states, as well as an exchange of views on achievements and existing problems in the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
Zavkizoda informed that as a result of the negative impact of the global economic crisis for 2015-2023, the Tajikistan’s average annual economic growth was 7.5%, the gross domestic product increased 3 times, and the poverty level decreased 1.6 times.
The Tajik delegation also participated and spoke at separate sessions of the forum related to poverty reduction and expanding cooperation towards the transition to digitalization.
