Tajik Musicians Prepare Online Performance as a Gift for Victory Day
DUSHANBE, 30.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Musicians of the Tajik State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Ayni are preparing a gift for Victory Day for World War II veterans and citizens who enjoy music.
“The musicians of the theater are preparing a small performance for the holiday, which can be seen, as expected, online on the official website of the theater (operabalet.tj). Also, the broadcast will be carried out on their Facebook page,” said the theater’s director Manouchehr Sharifzoda.
“This year we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory in World War II. Songs and music during the war helped the entire Soviet people to survive and win. Today, the music of the war years should also remind us all that we should always be persistent and patriotic in the face of any threats, and never lose heart. We must remember that even in the difficult years of war, loss, famine, people sang songs dedicated to the defense of the homeland and people,” noted Sharifzoda.
Last week, the Republican Commission on Coronavirus Prevention decided to temporarily ban the organization of all kinds of public events, such as meetings, forums, sports events, film showings and theater screenings in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. However, work in theaters continues.
“While considering that modern technologies and the internet allow us to broadcast artists’ performances today, we decided to take this opportunity,” explained Sharifzoda.
It is worth noting that online broadcasts of concerts and performances in the context of a pandemic has became another way of psychological and spiritual support of the population.
