DISASTER. Mudflows and Landslide Damage 338 Houses in Khuroson District
DUSHANBE, 19.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The damage from the elements was calculated by the district emergency commission of the Khuroson, reports the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense.
Due to heavy rains from May 14 through May 16, mudflows occurred in the villages of Nematullo Asadullo, XVIII Party Congress, Khuroson and Pakhtaobod of Khuroson district. As a result, 338 houses were affected, of which 14 were completely destroyed, and 1 was partially destroyed.
The CESCD employees continue to eliminate the consequences with the help of special equipment. Twenty-eight houses and household plots were cleaned of mud and water. Thirty-five tents were allocated to the affected population as temporary residence.
On May 18, a Government Commission led by Deputy Prime Minister Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda visited the disaster area.
An operational meeting, which was attended by the officials of the republican and regional structures and the victims, focused on the issues relating to eliminating the consequences of natural disasters.
